WAIT LISTED
Many private colleges place some student’s names on a wait list. If
you are in this situation, you need to do the following:
Contact the college promptly
Contact the college by phone and ask how the wait list works.
Write a letter expressing your interest and provide new information,
if possible.
Your letter should be brief.
You should include a letter of recommendation.
Let your counselor know you are interested in the college. Your
counselor could receive a call from the college.
Ask how many students were removed from the waitlist last
year?
If you do not hear from the college before May 1, you must select
another college.
If you receive a call during summer, you may withdraw your
application from another college. You will not get your deposit back.
Some colleges frequently use a wait list and contact students when
an opening occurs. It can vary from year to year.
Not all colleges have a wait list or remove names from the list.
